Makeup is valuable and often quite pricey, yet its value extends far beyond its cost for many women. Amidst the chaos of moving, it’s easy to overlook makeup amidst other priorities. That’s why we’re here to assist you in packing your makeup thoughtfully and efficiently. Proper packing ensures your makeup arrives safely and ready to use in your new home. Follow these steps to pack your makeup securely:
Step #1
Gather all of your makeup and cosmetic products in one place
While it may sound easy, this initial step can be pretty challenging, especially for those who love to follow all the latest makeup trends and constantly buy new products. Then, take a deep breath and arm yourself patiently because sorting through everything awaits you.
Step #2
Sort all your products
It’s sorting time! Your goal is to pack as quickly and efficiently as possible without carrying many unnecessary items. Of course, that’s easier said than done, but you can start by deciding which products to bring and which ones it’s time to toss. Trust me, that old lipstick tangled up in various makeup bags for years will never get used. Discard any expired or unused items to reduce clutter and make packing easier.
Next, continue sorting through the products you use and truly need. I advise grouping powders with powders and mascaras with other mascaras, etc. Create small piles for each category.

Gather supplies
The next step is to gather high-quality and durable boxes to pack all the makeup you plan to take. Specifically, you’ll need boxes and packaging of various sizes and dimensions.

- Ziplock bags or small pouches
- Packing peanuts or tissue paper
- Tape and markers for labeling
Step #4
Secure liquids and protect fragile items
Place liquid makeup items such as foundations, concealers, and nail polish in sealed Ziplock bags to prevent leaks. Wrap them in bubble wrap or packing paper for extra protection.
Wrap delicate items like eyeshadow palettes, powders, and blushes individually in bubble wrap or packing paper. Place them in small boxes or containers lined with packing peanuts or tissue paper to cushion them during transit. Pack brushes with special care. We all love them soft and easy to use, so make sure they are packed in the right way.
Clean and dry makeup brushes thoroughly before packing. Bundle them with a rubber band or place them in a separate pouch to prevent bristle damage.
To prevent powder compacts and eyeshadows from breaking, place a cotton pad or tissue inside the compact and wrap them in bubble wrap. Pack them tightly in a box to minimize movement.

Set apart the unique essentials box
It’s essential that you feel as comfortable as possible throughout the exhausting moving process. Some things you’ll need right away must be easily accessible, like concealer, your favorite lip balm, or loose powder.
