Moving without a Destination Address
Moving long-distance without knowing the exact address of your new home is surprisingly common. This is typical of moves that occur for work or family reasons. Not to worry! Your destination address can be determined later in the moving process
HOW TO BOOK A MOVE WITHOUT THE EXACT DESTINATION ADDRESS
Knowing the exact destination address is not necessary for an accurate moving quote. Customers can simply provide a nearby zip code of the destination city to receive a quick and easy estimate. You can provide Zip Moving & Storage with your exact new address after the move is booked.
Moving without a forwarding address
One of the major concerns when moving is receiving mail. Do not fret! Receiving mail without knowing your exact destination address is not impossible, here are some options:
- Forward mail to a P.O. Box – Renting a postal box is a safe and convenient way to receive letters and packages while looking for a permanent residence.
- Send through General Delivery – Knowing the destination city allows customers to receive packages and mail from a local Post Office as General Delivery. The mail is held in the post office for 30 days and will need to be picked up in person.
- Change address temporarily – Some choose to ask a friend or family member to collect their mail. You can initiate a temporary change of address with USPS. Once a permanent place of residence is decided, it is quick to fill out the form and change your address to receive mail at your new home.
